Itinerary

Reporting in Delhi at 2 PM and departure for Manali by Volvo bus.

Arrive in Manali and checkin at hotel. This is a rest day as we start trekking the next day.will lead us to campsite of Chhika. Overnight stay in camp.

Drive to Prini and then to Sethan village, Starting point of trek. Earlier the trek used to start from Prini village, since the road was not constructed. But the hydro electricity project in Prini constructed the road and the trek has to be started from further up from Setan.. A couple of hours trek from Sethan through alpine forest and a meadow will lead us to campsite of Chhika. Overnight stay in camp.

The trek meanders gradually gaining the altitude by the Mail stream and a couple of stream crossing and we reach our campsite at Balu Ghera. Abundance of wild flowers is the USP of today’s trek.(again depending on the season you trek) Fantastic view of Rocky Mountains. ‘Balu Ka Ghera’ which is known for wild flowers, rocks and caves.

This patch of the trek is a bit arduous as we have to cross over the pass and then after a steep descent takes the toll on the knees. A gradual slope from Balu ka Ghera till Rattanthadi and then after the trek passes over the rocks and streams and then after the final assault to the pass begins. Magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and the campsite on the other side can be had from the Pass. You are actually living the moment here, for which you choose this trek and walked through all the odds for past couple of days. Spend some time at the pass and then after begin descend to the other side of the pass. Reach at camp and relax.

The trek today is rather flat and downhill. And the landscape appears to give you a geographical shock. Cross-stream near the camp and follow the right bank until it joins with the Chandra River. Again, cross the same stream by small wooden bridge. Now follow the left bank of Chandra River. 30 minute later a motor able bridge to be cross to reach at Chatru. Drive to Manali over Rohtang pass. Checkin at hotel in Manali and rest.

Rest day in Manali. Walk the town, eat the food and breath in all the mountain air. Departure for Delhi by Volvo at 4 PM.

Arrival in Delhi. Camp ends.
