Mahabaleshwar Herp Trail

Mahabaleshwar is a semi-evergreen forest near Pune which is home to myriad species of amphibians and reptiles. A major attraction to exploring this forest is the Malabar Pit Viper which is the northernmost limit of this species in western ghats. Monsoon is a magical time when these vipers and many other species of snakes are active. In addition to that, beautiful species of frogs and other amphibians provide more opportunities for observers and photographers.
